Our Mission

The Department of Recreation and Cultural Arts is committed to building strong vibrant communities and improving the quality of life of its citizens through a variety of recreational and cultural arts initiatives.

The Department promotes and advances the rich history of its athletics, and heritage of its parks and recreational facilities. Lush green space, innovative programming, inclusiveness, and recreation equality are all hallmarks of the Department of Recreation and Cultural Arts.



About Us

 

The Department of Recreation and Cultural Arts was founded in 1955 by the City of College Park, as the Recreation Department.

The Department of Recreation and Cultural Arts consists of three centers today: Wayman and Bessie Brady, Hugh C. Conley and Tracey Wyatt, formerly known as the Godby Road Center. Each center offers various activities for both youth and adults.

The Department of Recreation and Cultural Arts consists of parks, pavilions, tennis courts and walking trails for your leisure enjoyment. Pavilions a tour parks can be reserved for activities as well as our Historic College Park City Auditorium. College Park also has a state of the art golf academy.



Programs offered at the Department of Recreation and Cultural Arts

After School Program, Youth and Adult Basketball, Youth Baseball, Cheerleading, Dance, Day Camps, Youth Football, Gymnastics, Karate, Line Dancing, Track, Tutoring, Tumbling, Weight Room, Senior Services, Volleyball, Zumba, Swimming, and Special Events (i.e., Easter Egg Hunt, Light Up The City, Senior Thanksgiving Luncheon, Breakfast with Santa, and the Christmas Parade).
