City of College Park’s Parks & Pavilions Reopen; Playgrounds Open to the Public

Social Distancing Still Suggested; Park Rangers Ensure Cleanliness at Each Location

College Park, Ga. (Thursday, June 18, 2020) – The City of College Park’s Recreation & Cultural Arts Department is excited to announce that parks and other recreational facilities have reopened, as visitors now have access to playgrounds, pavilions, basketball courts,  tennis courts and walking trails. 

The Covid-19 pandemic required the Recreation and Cultural Arts Department to restrict services due to public health and safety reasons. The city used a phased approach to properly reopen parks, pavilions and other outdoor facilities. However, based on public health suggestions, water-based recreation and indoor recreation centers remain closed to the public. 

Residents are encouraged to enjoy various parks around town - Zupp, Barrett, Phillips, Willis and where pavilions are available.  To reserve a pavilion, you must be a City of College Park residentand there is a $25-dollar fee included.

Recreation and Cultural Arts officials project that recreation centers - Conley, Wyatt and City Auditorium may reopen to the public on July 15th.  The Brady Recreation Center, located at 3571 Breningham Drive in College Park is undergoing major renovation, and will reopen upon its completion.

The Tracey Wyatt Recreation Complex, named after Ward III Councilman Tracey Wyatt, is our newest recreation facility. It is the home of the Tracey Wyatt Recreation Center, the Tracey Wyatt Swimming Pool, the College Park Youth Basketball Program (alongside the Brady Recreation Center), open gym basketball for youth and adults, karate, zumba, spring break day camp, summer day camp, swimming lessons, senior citizen activities, weight room, volleyball, and other community related programs and events. The Wyatt Recreation Center can also be reserved for special events.
