ATLANTA (Tuesday, January 5, 2021) – The City of College Park has announced Mercedes Miller will serve as interim City Manager as of January 1, 2021. She currently manages the City’s two largest venues – the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC) and Gateway Center Arena – and has been a trusted employee of the City of College Park for more than 20 years.

Miller was a recipient of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “Top 100 Hospitality Executives” honor in 2016 and was instrumental in the opening of Gateway Center Arena – home to the College Park Skyhawks and Atlanta Dream – in November of 2019. Prior to working with the City of College Park, she worked with the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) and the former Stouffer Hotels and Resorts, now Starwood Hotels and Resorts.

She takes over the role of Terrence Moore, who served as College Park City Manager for seven years, as City officials embark on a national search for a new City Manager to fill the role this year. Miller will continue to work closely alongside Mayor, Council and department directors as she fulfills the duties of City Manager, a natural fit for an employee so engrained in the City culture and operations.
