The next College Park Municipal Election will be on November 7, 2023
Residency Requirements:
All elected officials must be a resident in the city limits of College Park for at least (1) year to run for a Mayor or Council seat.
Terms of Office:
The terms of office are four years beginning on January 1, 2024, ending on December 31, 2027
Qualifying Period:

Qualifying Dates for the offices listed above will begin:  August 21-25, 2023, 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the Office of the City Clerk (O.C.G.A. § 21-2-132 (c) (3) & SB 199).

Qualifications for Elected Officials
To run for office in the City of College Park, one must meet the following qualifications:
•Must be a U.S. Citizen.
•Must have been a resident of the City for one year at the time you qualify.
•Must be a registered voter at an address within the ward for which you qualify.
•Must not have been convicted or sentenced for fraudulent violation of election laws, malfeasance in office, a felony involving moral turpitude or, if so, provide verification that your rights have been restored.


Campaign Contributions:
A Declaration of Intention to Accept Campaign Contributions (DOI) form must be filed with the City Clerk prior to soliciting/accepting campaign contributions.  Candidates with a Campaign Committee should also file a Registration Form for a Campaign Committee other than the Candidate.  Both forms can be obtained online through the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission website (www.ethics.ga.gov) or in the Office of the City Clerk.
Campaign Contribution Disclosure Reports:
The Ethics in Government Act requires public disclosure of campaign financing and significant private interest of public officers and candidates for public office. Elected officials and any candidate seeking elected office in Georgia, or the chairperson or treasurer of their campaign committee, must file campaign contribution disclosure reports. Anyone who has filed a Declaration of Intention to Accept Campaign Contributions must file these reports, even if there has been no activity. These forms must be filed in compliance with the following schedule:

June 30, 2023
September 30, 2023
October 25, 2023
December 31, 2023
