Criminal Investigation Division


Major Marcus Dennard is the commander of Criminal Investigation Division which consists of Detectives, Crime Scene Processing and Crime Analyst.

Major Dennard is a highly experienced and dedicated police officer with a passion for serving and protecting his community. With over 15 years of service in law enforcement, he has proven himself as a capable and respected leader.

Throughout his career, Major Dennard has held various positions within the police department, including patrol officer, special operations investigator, detective, sergeant, lieutenant, captain, and major.

His extensive experience in different roles has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of law enforcement operations and the challenges faced by officers on the front lines.

Known for his exceptional leadership skills, Major Dennard has a reputation for fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. He believes in leading by example and empowering his team to excel in their roles. Under his guidance, his officers have consistently achieved commendable results in crime reduction and community engagement.

Major Dennard is a strong advocate for community policing, recognizing the importance of building trust and collaboration between law enforcement and the communities they serve. He has successfully implemented various community outreach programs, forging strong relationships with community leaders, organizations, and residents.

In addition to his operational expertise, Major Dennard is committed to ongoing professional development. He holds a bachelor's degree in Agronomy/Plant Science the Fort Valley State University.  He holds a master's degree in public safety administration from Columbus State University.

He has completed advanced training programs in leadership and management. He actively seeks opportunities to enhance his skills and stay updated on the latest law enforcement practices and technologies.  He thrives to create a winning team environment, that produces greatness.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Major Dennard is actively involved in community service. He volunteers his time to mentor at-risk youth, providing guidance and positive role modeling. He also participates in local initiatives aimed at addressing social issues and promoting community well-being.  He also strives daily to build a legacy for his beautiful wife and children.

Major Dennard’s unwavering dedication to public safety, his exemplary leadership, and his commitment to community engagement make him an invaluable asset to the police department and the community at large.
